In Loving Memory of Christopher “Chris” Munafo Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend.

September 25, 1960 – August 28, 2025 Christopher Munafo passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family, at the age of 64, following a courageous battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). A man of strength, positivity, and profound generosity, Chris lived a life rooted in love, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to those he cared for. Born and raised in Springfield, Pennsylvania, Chris was the youngest of four children to Joseph and Eleanor Munafo. Growing up in an old-school Italian household with three older sisters, Chris developed a deep sense of family, a sharp wit, and a readiness to lead. All qualities he would later carry into his own role as a devoted husband and proud father of four daughters. Chris met the love of his life, Rosemarie, with whom he shared nearly 35 beautiful years together. Their bond was built on mutual morals, humor, respect and profound understanding. A love that was truly extraordinary, forgiving, and everlasting. Together, they raised their daughters Taylor, Kristen, and Julie, with the same values, warmth, laughter, and strength that defined their own partnership.

A graduate of Susquehanna University with a degree in Finance and Economics, Chris believed deeply in the value of education, not just as a means to success, but as a foundation for personal growth and community change. He continued his professional development at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Executive Education program and carried this passion for learning into every part of his life. Chris began his distinguished career in finance in 1985 at Janney Montgomery Scott, where he spent decades serving clients and mentoring colleagues with nothing short of passion, honesty and wisdom. From Financial Advisor to Senior Vice President and Director of the Private Client Group, and most recently as a Senior Wealth Planning Associate, Chris was admired for his leadership, sharp mind, and human-first approach to business.

Beyond his professional achievements, Chris will be remembered for the light he brought into every room. He had a laugh that was big and contagious, a wit that was quick and clever, and a way of making everyone feel like they had a shoulder to lean on. He was the toastmaster of every family gathering, the storyteller, the teacher, the comic, the bartender and the soul of every celebration. Whether on a motorcycle ride, a jet ski on the bay, a game of mini-golf, or a heated round of Rummy, Chris embraced life with positivity, curiosity, and fervor. Chris saw the world through a designer’s lens, with a quiet reverence for architecture and real estate. In his spare time, he wandered through properties, not just observing walls and windows, but envisioning what could be. His aptitude for building, whether it was real estate or relationships, was truly a gift. He had a rare ability to recognize potential, not only in places others overlooked, but more profoundly, in people. In his final chapter, Chris faced CJD with the same grace and grit he carried throughout his life. Though the disease progressed quickly and cruelly, his spirit remained strong. He continued to make his family laugh, to show courage in the face of fear, and to remind everyone around him what love and resilience truly look like.

Chris is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Rosemarie, daughters Melissa, Taylor, Kristen, and Julie, son-in-law Sean, grandchildren Tyler, Shay, Cameron and Memphis, and his sisters Pat, Jane and her husband Ed, and Maria, extended family, colleagues, and lifelong friends - especially his childhood best-friend Steve, and martini partner, Rita. The Munafo family is committed to honoring Chris’s memory by supporting research for CJD and brain health through ongoing fundraising and advocacy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chris’s name to help fund research into cures for CJD, Alzheimer’s, and other neurodegenerative diseases so that future families may be spared this loss. https://secure.qgiv.com/event/stridesforcjd2025/account/2109962/  OR https://act.alz.org/site/TR?fr_id=19096&pg=personal&px=25290889

Chris Munafo’s life was defined not just by his accomplishments, but by his heart. He gave endlessly to his family, his community, and his profession. And in return, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the unshakable belief that even the smallest joys are worth toasting, especially with a Manhattan (up, no bitters) in hand. With love and endless gratitude, The Munafo Family

A private celebration of life will be held by the family to honor Chris’ wishes.
