Christopher “Chris” M. Nessco, né Cook, of Leominster, MA, passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 33, after a sudden, brief illness.
Chris was born on June 1, 1991 in Melrose, MA to Kenneth R. Cook and Donna M. Cook, née Boland, and was raised in Chelmsford, MA, where he graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School in 2009, while maintaining a perfect attendance record throughout his school years.
While in high school, Chris worked at the Market Basket supermarket in Westford, where he would meet the love of his life, Leah Bowness. Chris and Leah married in Jackson, NH on April 9, 2022, which was the 11th year anniversary of their first date together, amalgamating their original surnames to “Nessco” to pay homage to both their families. Chris and Leah like to observe their relationship in terms of time since they started dating, recently celebrating the milestone of their 5,000th day of being together.
Chris earned a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts and launched a career in the IT field, most recently as a systems analyst for Fresenius Medical Care. He and Leah settled in Leominster, MA where they own a home and started a family together, giving birth to their daughter Vanessa, on September 21, 2023, and they recently learned that they have a second child on the way, due in August.
With Leah, Chris built an exceptionally large network of close friends aided by his outgoing and ebullient personality and will be remembered for his infectious laughter and love of life. Chris had passion for his several hobbies, such as caring for tropical fish (he had three tanks), his cooking, his music, and especially his love for drumming. Over the years, Chris played in several local bands such as Quantum Paradox and most recently, Shattered Brass.
In addition to his loving wife Leah and his daughter Vanessa, Chris is survived by his brother Brian Cook, of Leominster, MA, his parents Kenneth and Donna Cook, of Newtown, CT, and his grandmothers Cathy Colomey of Stoneham, MA and Arlene Cook, of Revere, MA as well as numerous loving relatives including ten cousins, two uncles and an aunt.
Relatives and friends are invited to Chris' Celebration of Life at the Westford Healy Funeral Home, 57 North Main Street, Westford, from 2:30 until 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider any donations to Chris' children's education fund
