Christopher Bryant Newsome

Newsoms - Christopher Bryant Newsome of Newsoms, VA went to his heavenly home on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the young age of 23. Christopher was the son of Stephen "Steve" and Bonnie Newsome of Newsoms, VA, and had one sister, Katelyn Nicole Newsome, currently of Williamsburg, VA. He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Randolph Bryant Starke. He is survived by both parents, his sister, his paternal grandparents, Luke & Barbara Newsome, maternal grandmother, Diane Starke, aunts, uncle, several cousins, and many, many wonderful friends.
Christopher had many accomplishments during his short life. He joined boy scouts at an early age and reached the highest designation of being named Eagle Scout. Though he played some baseball and basketball, he found "his sport" in the 7th grade when he started playing golf. He continued his passion by playing on the high school team, earning various recognitions throughout the years, which included winning the conference championship as a sophomore. He also recently joined Little Texas Hunt Club after hunting there for many years. In addition, he was involved in farming with Mann Farms and Stuart Pierce Farms, Inc.
Christopher was a graduate of Southampton Academy, graduating valedictorian of his 2020 class. Being accepted into Virginia Tech's College of Engineering, he attended school there for a couple of years prior to beginning his career in the construction field with Branscome, Inc. of Williamsburg, VA.
Christopher enjoyed spending time with family and friends and anything that entailed: hunting, hanging out, or "cutting a loop" (as Christopher would say). Though he was quiet in his demeanor, he developed sincere relationships with people that will forever remember him as the kind-hearted soul that he was.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, January 1, 2025 in Newsoms United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Baugham officiating. The burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin from 6 to 8 P.M., and suggest that memorial donations be made in Chris' memory to CHKD.
