Christopher O'Conner, 47, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday December 5, 2021 at Northwest Health La Porte in La Porte, IN.
He was born September 26, 1974 in La Porte, Indiana, the of Gene O'Conner and Rebecca (McCarty) Johnson.
Simply put, Chris loved "Hot Rods". Spending many years working for All-Star Autos Chris knew how to detail a car. He had a following and if there ever was a black car that needed to be detailed, Chris was the man to go to. He loved La Porte's monthly cruise night and would drive Lincolnway in his big yellow truck over and over with his Dad. Chris also owned a 37 Dodge pick-up with a phase his Dad stole from him stating, "Wasted Wages". Chris took a lot of pride in the work he did and as told, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed bowling with his Dad. was a repo man at one time, a bouncer, and a body builder. He had a special friend Heather Fritch he enjoyed spending time with her. Ashley enjoyed spending time and working with Chris. Special moments enjoyed were when he would go out to eat with his Mom and grandmother.
Chris is survived by father Gene O'Connor; mother Rebecca Johnson; Maternal Grandmother, Dee McCarty; Paternal Grandfather, Kenneth McCarty; Step-Father, Thomas (Julie Tafelski) Johnson; Step-Mother, Kellie (Rodney) Wahl; 1/2 Sister, Ashley (Jeffrey Sorg) Reyes; 1/2 Sister, Kodie (Tyler Kinney) Johnson; two nephews, Aiden Reyes, Austin Sorg; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his All Star Auto Family.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. The family has chosen cremation and will host a memorial service at a later time.
