Donna Chlebowski

Donna Chlebowski, a beloved mother, devoted sister, cherished grandmother, and passionate animal lover, passed away peacefully in her home in La Porte, Indiana, on October 28, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on April 15, 1948, in La Porte, Donna was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her.

A woman of many talents and careers, Donna spent a significant part of her professional life as a pharmacy technician with Kmart, where her dedication and care for others shone brightly until her retirement. However, her true legacy extends far beyond her work; she was a relentless go-getter who embraced life with open arms. Her passion for learning was evident in her avid enjoyment of reading medical books, striving to keep abreast of health developments and always putting her well-being first.

Donna's zest for life was infectious. She relished in the joy of family gatherings, filling every moment with laughter and love. A lifelong fan of game shows, she eagerly participated in the excitement of watching them on television and even fulfilled a dream by taking a cross-country train trip to attend a taping of "The Price is Right" alongside the iconic Bob Barker.

Surrounded by furry companions throughout her life, Donna's heart overflowed with love for her animals. Her cherished dog, Molly, was a constant source of comfort and joy, reminding her of the simple pleasures that life has to offer.

Donna's journey began as she graduated from high school and took a monumental step in her life by marrying the love of her life, David Chlebowski, in 1965. Their union was a testament to true love, and even after David's passing, his memory continued to inspire Donna. She was the proud daughter of Harold and Iona Mick, and sister to Lawrence Mick, James Mick and Wanda Smith, who have all preceded her in death but remain forever in her heart.

Donna leaves behind a loving family who will carry her spirit forward: her daughter, Debbie West and her husband Joe, her sister, Elizabeth Towne, and her beloved grandchildren, Brandon and Brittani. Each of them holds their own special memories of time spent with Donna, and they will forever cherish her warmth, wisdom, and vivacious spirit.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Donna’s remarkable life at Haverstock Funeral Home Inc in La Porte, Indiana, on November 3, 2025. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Donna will be laid to rest at Patton Cemetery following the service, where she will find peace surrounded by the love she shared throughout her life.

Donna Chlebowski is remembered as a beacon of love and joy. Though her physical presence may be gone, her spirit will forever illuminate the lives of those she touched. In every book, in every game show, and in every wagging tail, her legacy will live on.
