May 14, 1986 - December 14, 2023
Columbia, South Carolina - Christopher Young Register, 37, of Columbia, died Thursday, December 14, 2023. Born May 14, 1986, in Columbia, South Carolina, he is the son of John William Register and Frances Young Register. Chris enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially trips to mountain ranges like the Appalachian Mountains. He particularly loved to hike, camp, and listen to music. He was also an accomplished musician and seasoned drummer. Chris was a lifelong member of Shandon Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Mandy Abrams (Greg) and his brother, Tripp Register (Laura). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Camden Abrams, Landon Abrams, Sarah Manning Abrams, Hannah Katherine Abrams, Bruner Register, John Michael Register, and Luke Register. Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Leigh Moulder Register.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 2:30 PM in The Chapel of Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC. The family will greet friends at The Chapel beginning at 1:30 PM. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shandon Baptist Church, For Generations to Come, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC 29206 or Radius Church-Southside, 702 Whaley Street, Columbia, SC 29201.

Christopher, I'm thankful for the good, loving, and supportive times you gave to Rachel in such a short period of time. Even though we had our share of arguments and disagreements, I am thankful for the true, heart to heart conversations we shared over the years. I loved the way you and Rachel would make each other laugh. I loved the way me and Rachel would laugh about something you said or did and how you would join in too. I loved how we could all three be together and just enjoy ourselves - whether it was hiking, canoeing, having dinner, or simply sitting in house. You and Rachel had so much to live for. I miss you both everyday.

John and Frances, Craig and I were so sorry to hear about the loss of your son and his wife. The pictures that someone shared online were lovely and showed how much they loved each other and enjoyed life.
