Christopher Michael Shepherd

Christopher Michael Shepherd, 48, of Oak Hill, WV passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Raleigh General Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. After a courageous battle with cancer, Chris was peacefully called home to Heaven, where God has chosen to fully heal him and embrace him into eternal life.
Born September 16, 1976, in Beckley, WV, he was the son of William Lee Shepherd, Jr., and Louise Kay Treadway Jeffries, and stepson of Hazel Shepherd and Arnold Jeffries.
Chris' outgoing and friendly personality made him a wonderful and successful car salesman. Chris took an interest in rare finds and collecting old coins. He enjoyed riding 4- wheelers and other outdoor activities. He was also very content hanging out with friends and family, just having casual conversations.
Chris had so many great personality traits that truly made it a pleasure to know him. He was known for his kind nature and generosity, and everyone could sense his gentle spirit. He made friends everywhere he went. His smile and laughter were certainly contagious. So many people have fond memories of Chris. His life will always be cherished, and he will be deeply missed. As Chris' dad, Bill, stated so perfectly, "If love could have kept him here, he would be here forever."
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Lee, Sr. and Ruby Shepherd, and Ernest and Wanda Treadway; his mother, Louise Kay Treadway Jeffries; stepfather, Arnold Jeffries; his brother, William Lee Shepherd III; and two stepbrothers, Russel "Rusty" and Shawn Jeffries.
In addition to his father and stepmother, those left to cherish his memory are two very special children that he treasured in his heart and loved as his own, Alivia Reynolds and Christopher Stewart; his sisters, Vonda Fisher and husband, Michael, of Scarbro, and Kimberly Hull and husband, Robert, of Fayetteville; stepsisters, Letha Jarvis, and husband, Mark, of Oak Hill, Vanessa Nelson, and husband, Jerry, of Pax, Sandra Jeffries, and husband, Walter, of Texas; stepbrothers, Michael Watson, and wife, Jessica, of Shady Spring, Timothy Jeffries of Oak Hill, and Wesley Hughey and husband, Patrick, of Virginia. Chris has several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends that will also forever cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be conducted at the High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill, WV on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Luke Hodges officiating. Friends may visit with Family 1 hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
