Christopher Paul "Chris" Smith, 40, of Tavares, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he moved to Tavares in 2001 from Pauline, South Carolina. He owned & operated Cornerstone Cuts, LLC lawn service. Chris was a member of The Cross Church, Mount Dora where he co-founded the Men of The Cross Ministry serving the local community.
Chris gave his heart to Christ in 2022. His life verse was 1st Corinthians 13:13 “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” He lived a life of adventure with a constant calling from his roots in South Carolina. His passions included his family, especially his new-found church family; four-wheeling, motorcycle riding, guns and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Smith; son, Brody Smith; step-son, Bryson Spivey; 2 daughters, Taylor Smith and Jasmin Smith; beloved ‘man’s best friend’ Atticus; father, John “Paul” (Tina) Smith; mother, Rose Mary (Barry Honeycutt) Liles; brother, Josh (Heather Turnage) White; step-sister, Lynn White and half-brother, Mark Liles.
A celebration of Chris' life will be held at The Cross Church, Mount Dora on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Men's Ministry at The Cross Church, Mount Dora.
