Christopher Ward Obituary

Christopher Charles Ward passed peacefully in his 31st year, surrounded by loved ones, after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Barbara Ware Shippey and Dr. Ellis R. Taylor, and his paternal grandmother, Lenore Beyer Ward. He leaves behind his loving family: parents Charles Ward Jr. and Holly Taylor Ward; brothers Scott and Matt Ward; paternal grandfather Charles R. Ward Sr.; Mrs. Anne V. Taylor; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins from across the globe. A lifetime resident of Southeast Louisiana, Chris graduated from Northlake Christian High School in 2011. On a constant quest for knowledge, Chris was also near graduation from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in engineering technology. A true Louisianian, Chris spent much of his time cooking for his family, perpetually looking to perfect old recipes and discover new ones. Chris's passion didn't end with sports and cooking; he was a man who found great pleasure in learning and music. A kind and gentle soul, he would unconditionally help any creature of God without expectation of any reward. Chris will be remembered as a loving brother and son, impeccable gift giver, and student of life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Northshore Humane Society at 20384 Harrison Ave, Covington, LA 70433. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow the service at St. Mary Cemetery, 304 S. Necaise Ave, Bay St Louis, MS 39520. Please Share a Memory on the Tribute Wall at www.ejfieldingfh.com.

I can´t believe you´ve been gone a year, you wouldn´t believe everything that´s going on. Your spirit really lit this world and it is much dimmer without you. Hope you´re out there somewhere watching over us, guiding us through this crazy time. Miss you tremendously.

I worked with Chris for about a year or so. He was the kindest soul I had ever met. I almost couldn´t believe a human like that could exist, somebody so pure in his intentions. I am so honored to be able to say I met Chris and got to know him like I did. He is such an incredible friend. He truly would give you the shirt off his back. I´ll miss all our laughs and you dearly, grandma ra Monster Mash will never quite sound the same again

Chris - thank you for having enriched our lives. You were a great cousin and friend and a cool guy to hang out and travel with. I always felt so welcome with you and you might be surprised to hear this but stories of your cooking have traveled through Europe. I miss having you around. Love you man!

Charlie and family,
I am so saddened to hear of Chris's passing. Although I hadn't seen the boys since they were small, I remember Chris as a sensitive and inquisitive youngster. My heart aches for your loss and I pray God will give you strength as you celebrate Chris's life and cherish the memories he has given you.
