Christopher Lee Whorton went home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the age of 48. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Chris was born to Regina Pearman Gwin and Douglas Edward Whorton on February 8, 1977, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He graduated from Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, OK

Chris was a proud father and deeply cherished his children. He welcomed his first daughter, Bailee Amaris Whorton, in 2004, followed by his second daughter, Allee Grace Whorton, in 2006. Being their dad was one of Chris’s greatest joys, and his love for them was constant and unwavering.

Chris had a great love for creating and building things. He insisted on taking things apart just to see if he could put them back together and usually make them whole again. He loved cars, motorcycles, and ATVs: anything fast, loud, and likely to make someone furious. Chris taught himself how to fix almost anything, from vehicles to plumbing and electrical work. Many suspected he might have been just as talented at building dollhouses and playing with toys.

In his younger years, Chris worked at his dad’s shop, Whorton Tire, before beginning work in the oil field with Unit Drilling, where he further strengthened his mechanical skills and strong work ethic. He later took Auto Body classes at Mid-Del Vo-Tech to begin his career as an auto body technician. Soon after, he discovered his passion for welding, which ultimately led him to start his own business. Chris was the proud owner and operator of Whorton Welding for over 13 years.

First and foremost, Chris had a big heart of gold and loved his family more than anything maybe even the toys. In 2019, he met the love of his life, Tricia. They married in Maui in 2021, where their shared love of travel truly began, especially trips that included a beach. They created countless cherished memories together and were working toward building their dream ranch. Chris was also a loving and devoted stepfather to Tricia’s son, Caden Adams.

Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mildred and Joe Whorton of Midwest City, OK; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Lee Pearman of Midwest City, OK; and his maternal grandfather, W.S. “Bill” Pearman.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Whorton of Newalla; daughters, Bailee Whorton of Norman and Allee Whorton of Midwest City; stepson, Caden Adams of Newalla; mother and stepfather, Regina and Robert Gwin of McAlester; father and stepmother, Douglas and Nancy Whorton of Eufaula; sisters, Carissa Menefee of Chandler and Misty Whorton of Midwest City; and brother, Brandon Whorton of Oklahoma City. Chris also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many cherished friends.
