Christopher John Wilson, 53 of Meggett, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Born on August 4, 1971 in Charleston, SC, Chris was a son of Ellen Crosby Wilson and the late Frank Wilson.
He was in the graduating class of 1990 at Country Day in Hollywood, SC. Upon High School graduation, Chris joined the United States Marine Corps, completing his boot camp at Parris Island. After boot camp, he joined the 24th MEU serving in the Desert Shield and Somalia era. He was in Motor transport, operating LVS trucks, "Dragon Wagons". He did numerous humanitarian convoys for the UN to aid in the humanitarian efforts. His efforts earned 2 South West Asia Service Medals, a National Defense Service Medal, 4 Meritorious Mast, an Armed Forces Expiditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Joint Unit Award, Humanitarian Service Medal, and a United Nations Medal. He was also a proud Shellback. After an honorable discharge from the Marines, Chris went to work for Pardee Heating & Air. After a few years of mastering his craft, Chris founded and operated C.Wilson Heating & Air. Chris took great pride in his work and strived for excellence and loyalty to all clients, many who became like family to him. Chris spent the last 20 years traveling yearly to Alaska for moose season. Alaska became a very important part of Chris's life; it was a time of regrouping and reflecting. Alaska became imprinted in his heart and soul and the friends there became family. Chris was able to share his love of Alaska with his wife and daughter, who also fell in love. Chris married Jill Lien in 2015, and had two children MaryEllen "Ellie" and Colt. Chris loved his family more than anything in the world, and was fiercely loyal and protective.
Christopher is survived by his wife Jill Wilson; daughter, MaryEllen "Ellie" Wilson; son Colt Wilson; his mother; mother and father in laws Mary (Mike) Mills and Doug (Karen) Lien; brother Robert Wilson (Christine); sister Lori Wilson; brother and sister in laws, Kristi (Matt) Barber, Caleb (Courtney) Mills, and Laura (Sean) Simonson and his nieces and nephews Levi, Jillien, Prestan, Melayna, Maren, and Maddie.
Chris was preceded in death by his father.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 10-12 PM at Christ St. Paul's Church, 4981 Chapel Rd., Hollywood, a service will follow at 12PM. The burial will conclude at Christ-St. Paul's Church Cemetery in Yonges Island, South Carolina. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
