Christopher Wood

Christopher “Chris” Jarrell Wood transitioned to his heavenly home Tuesday, January 21, 2014. He was born to AnCarlos “Carlos” Toomer and Kimberly “Kim” Wood on October 4, 1987 in Washington, DC. Chris grew up and lived in Temple Hills, MD. He attended Potomac High School in Oxon Hill, MD.
Chris was a loving and well-mannered son and father. He had a special interest in roller-skating. Some would say that if roller-skating were an Olympic sport that Chris would bring home “the gold”. His passion was cooking and his ultimate goal was to become a chef. Chris loved preparing meals for his sons on a daily basis.
Chris’ life is celebrated by: his Mother, Kim; Father, Carlos (Alicia); three sons, Christopher, Jr., Chace Robert, and Cameron Jamaal, and their mother, Christine Eke; six siblings, Brian McCray, Jr. Terrance Hawkins, Sr., Deonte Overby, Brandon Smith, Jeremy Williams, and Ciara “CeCe” Williams; two Aunts, Gelena Wright (Rudolph) and Angela Ames (Chris); Maternal Grandparents, Joseph Wood and Charlotte Redd Wood; Great-Grandparents, Hazel Palmer, and Wallace and Cornelia Redd of Waynesboro, Virginia; cousins, Lisa B. Clark and Brittany Toomer; nephew, Terrance Hawkins, Jr.; niece, Angelena Ames; and a host of extended family members and friends. Chris was preceded in death by Paternal Great-Grandmother, Golden “Jack” Jackson, and paternal grandparents, Ricardo and Audrey Toomer.
Family and friends will unite on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Southeast Christian Fellowship Church, 3140 Q St. SE, Washington, DC from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD
