Christopher M. Yake, 58, of 34 Grove Place, Danbury, CT passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024. He was the husband of Jen (O'Connor) Yake.
Chris was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Clayton and Edith Bronstein Yake. He grew up in Ridgefield, CT, receiving his BA from Western Connecticut State University where he went on to a career in graphic design and advertising. He shifted his career path in the past year and started a new job at Maywood Estate in Bridgewater, a job that thoroughly enjoyed.
Chris was an avid golfer, a pastime he was able to enjoy with his wife Jenny - honeymooning in Ireland, playing golf every season all season together.
Chris was an artist, painting for much of his life. He also was an avid photographer, recently publishing his own book combining his love of the art and his love of Ridgefield, his hometown.
Chris loved Cape Cod, enjoying his annual summer visit to Mashpee since he was a teenager. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees & Rangers. Chris took up the hobby of disc golf, which he enjoyed every Sunday at Beacon for the last 10 years.
Anyone who knows Chris associated him with his drums and his love of music. He loved the Grateful Dead, Reggae, Rush and everything and anything in between. He looked forward to his Friday night basement jams after a long week of work - enjoying the company of his bandmates new and old through the years.
In addition to Jenny, he is survived by his sister, Bonnie Yake, and her husband, David Koebensky of Downingtown, PA. Also is extensive family, including his sister and brother-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins will miss him dearly.
Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 12:00pm - 4:00pm on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at The Elks Lodge, 36 Sugar Hollow Rd., (Route 7), Danbury, CT.
