Christopher Younge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Crematory on Jun. 18, 2025.
Christopher A. Younge, 49, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away on June 16, 2025. Born on May 30, 1976 in Boston, Massachusetts, Christopher was the youngest of three children to Jerome A. Powell and Jacqueline D. Younge (Powell). He is preceded in death by his parents and all of his grandparents.
Christopher's legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Marquelle Hall-Younge, and his endearing daughter, Tia Hall, of whom he was incredibly proud, especially of her academic achievements and athletic abilities. Chris' memory will forever be cherished by his two siblings, Felicia Younge and Jerome Younge, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of family and friends who will deeply miss him. Chris lived a full, rich and purpose-driven life. He loved God and his family wholeheartedly and never hesitated to help anyone in need.
A lifelong basketball enthusiast, Chris honed his skills from a young age, playing for his uncle Mike and Coach Barry Robinson at the Roxbury Boys and Girls Club and attending summer basketball and baseball camps. Affectionately known as "Critter," Chris' exceptional athletic abilities positioned him to always play up a level in the league. He was a tough competitor who knew and understood the game and played fearlessly. His passion for basketball continued into adulthood, as he shared his love for the game by coaching and organizing a youth basketball camp. Chris was an avid sports fan who could effortlessly rattle-off statistics and was a devoted supporter of the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots.
Christopher was educated in the Boston public school system and graduated from South Boston High School. He went on to continue his education at Newbury College where he played basketball at the collegiate level. Professionally, Chris excelled in business and honed his accounting skills to become a Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator, most recently employed at PT Solutions. He also had a keen interest in digital media and publishing, which he successfully integrated into his passion for photography.
Chris' aunts Sandra Lane and Pattie Powell nurtured and instilled in him a love for Christ. With their encouragement, he embraced his faith and became a member of the Abundant Life Deliverance Temple where he served as the audio/visual tech, under the direction of his uncle, Bishop Clarence Powell. Christopher relocated to Maryland for several years where he immersed himself in the community making connections and lifelong friends through his church and the Men of Excellence program. Chris then settled in Georgia where he frequented Northpoint Community Church with his family. His love for sports continued as he played in the recreational baseball league and coached an AAU basketball program.
Memorial services for Chris are being held in Roswell, Georgia and Boston, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations to the family may do so via Zelle at (404) 909-5786. Condolences to the family may be sent to 905 Norwood Lane, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004.

My condolences to the Younge and Powell families. Prayers up for you all.
I can remember when Chris was born. Jerome (Roney) and Jackie were good friends of mine. I know they both have him once again in their care.

RIP Christopher
