Christy Michelle Buff

Christy Michelle Buff, age 50, of Swannanoa and formerly of Morganton, passed away Friday, August 22, 2025 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

She was born in Morganton on September 30, 1974. Christy was formerly employed as a CNA at Broughton Hospital. She was a known as a free-spirited person who enjoyed music. She was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Christy’s pride and joy was her canine companion, Vivi, who she took special care of.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cara Fantasia Lane; her paternal grandfather, James Daniel Buff; and her maternal grandparents, Booney Jack South and Mary Caroline Guinn South.

Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Codi Alan Buff (Ashley) and Hannah Renee Waldron; two grandchildren, Alexander James Buff and Avery Jace Buff; her parents, Richard Lee Buff and Linda South Buff; two siblings, James Richard Buff and Karen Elizabeth Buff; nephews, Kolten Lee Piercy, Isaiah Daniel Rudisill, and Rylan Jeffery Rudisill; and cousins who were like brothers, Derek Justin South and Tyler Dwayne South.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
