Christy Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruebel Funeral Home from Jan. 14 to Feb. 25, 2026.
Christy Snowden Davis, of Little Rock, Arkansas, took flight Saturday, January 10 2026. She was born on June 13 1959 in Charlottesville, Virginia to her adoring parents, Judy and David Snowden, Sr.
Christy's life was a testament to thoughtfulness, devotion, and the quiet resolve of making others feel seen and loved. The love she bore for her family and friends knew no boundary, and numerous lives have been touched by her selflessness. No matter the scale of celebration, her impact made every memory special. She truly met no stranger, connecting with all walks of life and naturally putting everyone at ease. Through her endearing kindness, compassion, and intentional pureness, she left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Growing up on a farm in Scott, Arkansas, her life was forever marked by an adoration of nature. From travel throughout Bayou Meta, duck hunting with her family, floating the Buffalo, fishing, horse riding, and skiing in the Colorado Rockies; she was no stranger to adventure. She shared and encouraged that love of nature with her family and friends, enjoying many weekends on Greers Ferry Lake, hiking and fishing in Crested Butte, and floating in the summer breeze at Blue Mountain Beach.
To know Christy, was to know and love good music, great friendship, and driving her car from sunup to sundown. Both she and Mark could always be counted upon to listen to and enjoy live music, having centered their entire honeymoon around a trip to Belfast to witness the great Van Morrison. Her love of music and dance was infectious and spread joy to others.
She was a lifetime member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, and would periodically attend St. Mark's Episcopal Church to hear her friend, the Reverand Michael McCain, preach. She was a graduate of both Cathedral Elementary School, Mount St. Mary Academy, Southern Methodist University, and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was also a member and supporter of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
Having worked in the field of design for over 35 years, she possessed an uncanny ability to bring beauty into everything she touched. She joined Wonderful Things, a design firm instituted by her mother, Judy, and eventually entrusted this love and skillset to her daughter Elaine. This partnership especially was rewarding.
Christy enjoyed giving time and service to both design work and community engagement. Her designs include the Trinity Episcopal parish, The Cathedral School, and Episcopal Collegiate School, where she served on the design team for the new campus. Her continued commitment to Episcopal's Architectural Review Task Force for 25 years also earned her the Harriet Calhoun Stephens Distinguished Service award in 2013. Her dedication to her community included service work at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Little Rock Garden Club, and the UAMS Reynold's Institute on Aging Advisory Board.
Christy's memory lives on in the heart of her loving husband, J. Mark Davis, children, Elaine Green (Nick) and Robert Kelly (Emily), grandchildren, Thomas, Camille, Philip and Cameron, bonus daughters Mary Kate and Caroline, as well as her parents David and Judy, brother, David Jr. (Terri) nephew, David III (Adele) and niece, Anne-Elizabeth (Grant). She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Allie Starke Snowden.
Christy's family would like to extend our immense gratitude for the impeccable care received from her oncologist, Dr. Vivek Yadala, and his medical team at Baptist/UAMS Cancer Center.
A Celebration of her life will commence this Friday, January 16 th at 2:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock, with reception to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
