Charles J. "Chuck" Stuckey, 71, of Teutopolis, IL, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025 at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis, IL with entombment in St. Francis Cemetery. Chuck was born in Effingham, IL and spent most of his childhood growing up on a farm outside of Sigel. He attended St. Michael's and graduated from Teutopolis High School in 1971 and went on to graduate from Electronics Institute of Louisville, KY. He then married the love of his life, Geri and together they raised three children and were married for over 50 years. Chuck worked for thirty years as a supervisor for Verizon Company before retiring in 2009.

Chuck was known for always having a positive attitude and his favorite thing to do was spend quality time with family and friends. This started early when he made lifelong friends in Teutopolis that made up the Bean Soup Gang and in Chicago with the "Rent a Friends" group. Throughout his life Chuck, along with Geri, continued to add to the collection of friends that became family while living in Trenton, IL, Bloomington, IL, and Sorrento, FL before returning to Teutopolis in April of 2024. These friendships enriched their lives in so many ways and continue to do so to this day.

Chuck was a devoted husband, father and Gramps. His greatest joy in life was making his family happy. He was the rock of the family but also always had a silly, made-up song or Dad joke ready to lighten the mood. He had endless patience with his kids and grandkids for playing games of HORSE, coaching their sports teams, cheering on the sidelines or even playing dress up and dolls. He was a passionate Cardinals fan through good seasons and bad. While living in Florida, he loved going to the beach to walk hand in hand with Geri to find the perfect seashell. He loved playing Farkle, pinochle and LRC and always seemed to have a lucky hand or roll of the dice at just the right time. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like great music, drinking an ice-cold beer or sitting on the porch with his wife and dog Lily. He had a strong faith in God throughout his life.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him but we find comfort in knowing the joy he must feel being reunited with his son Adam and all his loved ones who have gone before him.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Geri (Bergfeld) Stuckey of Teutopolis; daughter, Heidi (Stuckey) Etre and husband, Trae of Fairfield, CT; son, Neil Stuckey of Bloomington, IL; granddaughter, Sophie Etre; grandson, Ryan Etre; sisters, Joan Smith of Teutopolis, Carol Braun of Fishers, IN, and Judy Overbeck of Effingham; and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Stuckey; mother, Leona (Ruholl) Stuckey; and son, Adam Stuckey.
