Cindy M. Baca, 55, a resident of Ranchitos, New Mexico, passed away on September 17, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Juan L. Baca and Isabelle Madrid Baca; her brothers Toby Baca, Melvin Kenny Baca, and baby John Melvin Baca; and her paternal grandparents, Cecilio and Delfinia Baca, and maternal grandparents, Alberto and Rose Madrid, her nieces, Elizabeth and Nicole Romero.
She is survived by her partner, Johnny Martinez; her sisters, Jacque Ladach (Michael), Shelly Baca (Jesus Ortiz), and Terrie Baca (Manuel Tafoya); nephews Michael A. Torrez (April), Chris Romero (Paulette Tewaheftewa), James Romero (Janice), Julian Romero, and Amanda Valdez; as well as her great-nephews and nieces: Aamon, Avery, and Diego Torrez; Christian, Lawrence, Gabriel, Brandon, Charlytte, and Nikolaj Romero; and great-niece Dahlia Romero.
Special cousins Charlie Lucero, Teresita Baca, and Vangie Baca, along with close friends Geanelle Ortiz, Roman Martinez, Leanne Vigil, Nora Martinez-Baca, Wilbert and Barbara Valdez, Beto and Rita Godina, and Helen Martinez.
Cindy was a proud graduate of Española Valley High School, Class of 1986. Throughout her life, she explored various fields, but her true gift was her ability to care for others. Known for the warmth, love, and laughter she brought to her family and friends, Cindy cherished moments spent visiting, singing, joking, praying with loved ones, often accompanied by the love of her life, Johnny. She found strength and comfort in her faith, spending much of her day in praise and worship. She will be dearly missed by all who love her.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Cruz de la Cañada Church in Santa Cruz. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m., with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in El Llano.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael A. Torrez, Avery Torrez, Chris Romero, James Romero, Manuel Tafoya, and Michael Ladach.
