Tommy Archuleta, age 63, a resident of Medanales, New Mexico, passed away on January 23, 2026, and is now with the lord.
Tommy was a beloved brother, Godfather, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He is now reunited with his parents Severito and Renee Archuleta; brothers: David Archuleta, Kelly Archuleta, Keno Archuleta; and the love of his life Jean Gonzales.
Tommy lived a full life marked by hard work, strong relationships, and simple joys. He loved the outdoors – especially fishing, hunting, and camping – his nephews have fond memories spending time with him doing what he loved. Tommy was a musician that played with La Familia Unida and enjoyed spreading his warmth and joy through music. Tommy loved lowriders and was a collector. He was an esclavo of the San Antonio Society in Medanales and volunteered with the Home Depot food distribution program in the different communities. He was known for being a handyman and could fix or build anything. He was generous in the way that mattered most and always ready to help those he loved. He had a sense of humor that would leave you in stitches, nicknames for those close to him, and had many quick one-liners. Tommy had a special love for his dogs and leaves behind his closest friend Chocolaté.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Francis Maestas (Leroy), Gary Archuleta (Greg), Jerry Archuleta (Lorraine), Randy Archuleta (Yolanda), Bob Archuleta (Mary), Ronnie Archuleta, Brenda Martinez (Julian); sister in laws: Sheila Archuleta and Lena Archuleta; Godson Marcos Archuleta (Jalen); and his many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. He is also survived by his extended family: Francine Trujillo-Mora, Brieanna Marquez, Jaylynn Trujillo, Destine Torres, Elaine Lee, Emiliano Perea, Desiree Mora, Francisco Mora, and Aaliyah Ramirez, Lorraine Gonzales, Nora Montoya, Robert Montoya, and Garick De La Fuente.
Honorable Pallbearers are his Godchildren: Marcos Archuleta, Jerry Archuleta Jr., Gary Archuleta Jr., Rick Salazar Jr., Rebecca Salazar, Ashley Martinez, Brian Martinez, his special close friends Mary Ann Trujillo, Juanita Manzanares, and Annabelle Martinez.
The family would like to thank his caretakers that took great care of him in the end: Alex Gracia, Elsa Garcia and Chantelle Maestas. His nephew Joshua Archuleta for the support, friendship, and time spent with him.
Tommy will be dearly missed by those lives he touched.
On Saturday, February 7, 2026, a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am, with Mass to follow at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, NM. Interment to follow at the Medanales Cemertery.
The family of Tommy Archuleta has entrusted the care of their loved one to Devargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the beautiful Espanola Valley.
