Cindy Lou Edgell, 74, of Grand Island, FL, passed away on August 26, 2025. She was born on March 9, 1951, in Zanesville, OH, to her parents: Donald and Georgia (Sparks) Edgell. Cindy was a devout Christian woman who loved the lord so much she went to Kentucky Christian College and graduated with a bachelors degree in theology. She then went on to serve in the United States Navy for seven years as a chaplain's assistant and then continued to work for the federal government as a civilian until retirement. Cindy was also a fan of Ohio State football. During football season, you could always catch her watching, while wearing her Ohio State shirt with her Ohio State blanket. She was a strong and independent woman who never had a hard time striking up a conversation with anyone. More than anything she loved her family. She was always telling whoever would listen what her grandchildren were doing and how proud she was of them. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Jaimie and Kyle Walsh; grandchildren: Kylee, Tobias, and Liara Walsh. Siblings: Rodney Edgell, Butch Edgell, Helen Snyder-Tracey and Ruby Gebhardt. She was preceded in death by her parents: Donald and Georgia Edgell; siblings: Gary Edgell, John Edgell and Donna Euman. A private graveside will be held at Florida National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home in Tavares, FL. Online condolences can be left at https://www.steversonhamlinhilbish.com
