David D. Edgell, age 69 of Painesville Twp., passed away July 19, 2025 at UH TriPoint Medical Center. He was born February 10, 1956 in Painesville to the late Leo and Ada Eula (Liggett) Edgell.
David retired from Willoughby Eastlake Schools in 2013 after 35 years of service as a Custodian. He enjoyed woodworking, reading and fishing in his spare time.
He is survived by his daughter Tessa Edgell (Joshua Wasalesion) and son Joshua (Leah) Edgell, his grandchildren Shaunte Clark, Alayna, Briele Waselesion, Cade and Blake Edgell. David was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Helen, Wanda and Garnett as well as his brother John.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 25th from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m with burial to follow at Perry Cemetery.
The family will make a donation to Morley Library to share his passion for reading. If you feel inclined, donors may send gifts to Morley Library, ATTN: Director, 184 Phelps Street, Painesville, Ohio 44077.
