Cindy Lee Griffith, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Cindy was born on June 5, 1954, in
Natrona Heights, PA to Howard Sell, Jr. of PA and the late Janet (Cornman) Sell.
Cindy was truly the life of any gathering. Social, warm, and full of energy, she had a way of making people feel instantly welcome. She formed lasting friendships with her Stop & Shop coworkers and genuinely enjoyed connecting with the many patrons she greeted each day.
Outside of work, Cindy was an avid gardener who took great pride in her flower gardens, faithfully played pickleball at the YMCA in Warwick, and enjoyed hiking.
Above all else, Cindy's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother and an exceptionally loving grandmother. Holidays were her specialty-each one celebrated and decorated to the fullest. She had a remarkable gift for turning small moments into meaningful memories, making her children and grandchildren feel cherished and special every single day. Thoughtful, kind, and genuine, Cindy drew people close to her and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
In addition to her father, Howard Sell, Jr., Cindy is survived by her daughter, Lauren Nagy and her husband Chris of West Greenwich, RI; her son, Stephen Griffith and his partner Diana of Johnston, RI; her beloved grandchildren, Mateo and Emma Hernandez-Griffith; and her loving partner Bruce Tavarozzi of Cranston, RI. She was predeceased by her daughter, Danielle Griffith. Cindy is also survived by her siblings, Howard "Butch" Sell III, Mark Sell, and Brian Sell, along with several loving nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Carpenter Jenks: Tuesday, January 13th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and Wednesday January 14th, from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. concluding with a prayer service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
