Cindy Denise "Burkhardt" Lavin, age 65, passed away at her home in Powell Tennessee on March 1, 2025. Born in Knoxville on April 10, 1959, Cindy lived in various parts of Florida, including Tampa and Sarasota, before returning to Powell TN in 2017, where she spent her final years. Cindy was a compassionate and loving soul who dedicated much of her life to helping others. She worked at Lambert's Healthcare in Knoxville, where her heart for service was evident in the care and kindness, she showed to everyone she met. Her ability to forgive quickly and her generosity-often offering the shirt off her back-were just a few of the qualities that endeared her to all who knew her, as she never met a stranger. Cindy also had a deep and unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was quick to pray for anyone going through hard times and always expressed gratitude for her time here on earth. A lover of family, animals, and life's simple joys, Cindy found peace and happiness in the warmth of the sun at the beach, making cherished memories with her loved ones. Her beloved cat, Eddie, was her constant companion, and her husband, sons and family were always her top priority. Her pride was apparent with the mention of their names. Cindy is preceded in death by her Mother Wilma Lambert, Father William "Bud" Burkhardt, and brother Donald Massengill. Cindy is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Lavin; her sons, Travis Lambert children - Brea Franklin (son Joshua) and Kyra Shepherd. Paul Benoit (wife) Jackie children- Bella, Connor, and Elliott. Evan Lavin (wife) Taylor and her siblings, William "Buddy" Burkhardt, Sandra Restivo, Connie Stair, and Dawn Blubaugh. Visitation will be held in her honor on Saturday March 29th at 2pm followed by a memorial service at 3pm at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, an animal rescue or organization of your choice. Cindy's love for God, her family, and those around her will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness, forgiveness, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
