Cindy Ann Baronet Lohnes, 55, of Ragley, passed away on February 19, 2026. Born and raised in Lake Charles, Cindy loved life and lived it to the fullest.
From an early age, Cindy developed a love for country western dancing. She spent 30 years serving her community as a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. During her career at the Sheriff's Office, Cindy met the love of her life, James Lohnes, and the two were married on December 5, 1999.
Upon Cindy's retirement in 2020, she and James began taking dance classes as a hobby. The two quickly became recognizable for their steps and routines, even choreographing some of the most unique dances in the area. They were proud members of the Krewe Des Danseurs Fou of Sulphur
Cindy also loved being outdoors. She was an avid camper and traveler, and she enjoyed taking care of her garden and watching birds.
Cindy is survived by her husband of 26 years, James Lohnes, Sr.; her mother, Linda Baronet; her brothers, Bryan Baronet and Boyd Baronet; her nephew, Hunter Baronet (Hailee); her niece, Sydney Vickers (Ryne); numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; several aunts and uncles; and her godchild, Kacie Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson "Bobby" Baronet, and her sister-in-law, Theresa Baronet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with a graveside service to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., and will resume Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
