Cindy Helms Long

It is with heavy hearts we share the news of the death of Cynthia Helms Long on July 2, 2025 at her sister's home in the Bluff Springs community of Coffee County, Alabama where she resided, she was 71. She spent the last months of her life surrounded by loving family and friends who showered her with the love and kindness they felt so deeply for her. Cynthia was born on February 20, 1954. She worked in the textile industry for years before going to work in the air conditioning business with her husband. Cynthia and her husband also farmed and operated a deer farm. She loved working hands on alongside her husband.

Funeral Services for Ms. Long will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 11am in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Keith Price officiating. Graveside services will follow in Enon Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11am at the funeral home.

Cynthia is preceded in death by grandparents Ellis and Alma Helms, Aubery and Ruby Drinkard; parents, Foy D and Lillie Jo Helms; her husband Cody Long; step daughter, Billie Ann Walker and great nephew, Chase Henley. Cynthia is survived by her sister Kareen Helms Henley (Billy); 7 nephews: David Flowers, Ethan Henley, Perry Flowers (Leslie), Chris Flowers (Stacey), Daniel Henley (Molly), Christopher Henley, and Jr Henley (Sherri); 2 nieces: Amanda Sani (Enddy) and Kristi Nunnelee (Jason); 21 great nieces and nephews; 7 great-great nieces and nephews; 4 step grandchildren: Paige & Clay Oliver, Madison Martin, and Hunter Walker; 1 loving aunt Alvernis Galimore and her best friend Darelene Jordan.

David Flowers, Ethan Henley, Perry Flowers, Daniel Henley, Christopher Henley and Jr Henley will serve as pallbearers.
