CINDY S. SARGENT, 60, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at her home in Cherokee, Iowa.
Private family memorial services were held on Sunday, February 22, 2026. The Boothby Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.
Cindy was born on August 26, 1965 to Jackie and Florence (Haburn) Rinehart. She graduated from Cherokee Washington High School in 1983. She earned her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from Western Iowa Tech. She worked as a nurse for nursing homes in the Cherokee area. In her free time she enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her father, sister Cathy (Bill) Robinson, and grandparents Tom and Elsie Haburn.
Cindy is survived by her son Kyle Geary of Oelwein, Iowa; mother Florence Phelan of Cherokee, Iowa; granddaughter Ryker Geary of Oelwein, Iowa; brothers Tracy (Caty) Hoeppner of Cherokee, Iowa and Cody Phelan of Cherokee, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
