Cindy L. Silas, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at NMMC Tupelo. Born on August 7, 1951, in Birmingham, Alabama, Cindy's journey through life was marked by unwavering love for her family, boundless creativity, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone she met.
Her career as an accountant was notable, starting from her early days at Larry Wallace Accounting in Birmingham, before proudly owning Silas Accounting in Smithville, Mississippi. Cindy's commitment to her profession was only rivaled by her dedication to her loved ones. She found joy in every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, Landry and Knox Silas, and Mikah Beth and Tinley Grace Lesley. Her proudest accomplishments included nurturing a loving family and indulging in her passion for crocheting dolls especially one for Mandy to use in her wedding, where her kind-hearted nature found expression through handmade treasures.
Cindy's love for cooking, baking, and sewing was matched only by her commitment to being actively involved in her grandchildren's lives, attending their activities and cheering them on with the same enthusiasm she poured into everything she did. A devoted member of New Bethel Methodist Church in Turon, Cindy found solace and community there, forming cherished friendships, particularly with Earleen, Renee, and her dearest high school friend, Pam.
She shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Dalton "Ray" Silas, Jr., who predeceased her. Their bond was one of deep love and companionship, a testament to the strength of their partnership. Cindy is survived by her daughter, Amanda "Mandy" Lesley (Josh); son, Michael (Loren) Silas; grandsons, Landry and Knox Silas; granddaughters, Mikah Beth and Tinley Grace Lesley; sister, Nanette Silas; and brother, Greg Crosby. Each of them will carry forward the legacy of love, kindness, and strength that Cindy exemplified in life.
Cindy's services will be held at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Smithville on February 22, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2 PM, and she will be laid to rest at Turon Cemetery in Fulton at 3 PM.
Pallbearers will be Chad Silas, Ross Silas, Josh Silas, Shawn Silas, Tristan Silas, Drew Gargus and Evan Sellers.
