Cindy McLaurin Tannenbaum

On November 9, 2025, Cindy Lois (McLaurin) Tannenbaum, 62, passed away at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 4, 1963, in Panama City, FL to Jesse Parker McLaurin and Myrler Louise Kimsey McLaurin. Her family later settled in Tallahassee where she graduated from Leon High School.

In 1989, Cindy joined the United States Air Force. After serving in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm, she was honorably released from active duty as a Senior Airman in 1995.

After her military service, Cindy applied the specialized training she gained in the Air Force to build a career in Information Technology with the United States Government. She worked in several roles throughout the industry, spending most of her years of service at United States military bases in Germany where she raised her family. Before retiring, she served as a Program Manager with the United States Department of Agriculture. She was passionate about her work but also loved traveling, shopping, long days at her favorite Florida beaches and spending time with friends and loved ones.

Cindy will be remembered by everyone who knew her for her strength and perseverance, her generosity and for always being the "team mom" in every chapter of her life. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Lauren Tannenbaum; her son Ryan Tannenbaum; siblings Margaret "Susie" McLaurin Bush and Nancy McLaurin Scott (Lewis), both of Tallahassee, FL and Brian Errol McLaurin of Panama City, FL; nieces Amy, Katie, Karla and Kimsey and nephews Johnny and Mike. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Augustus McLaurin.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the medical teams at the Nashville and Sacramento Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA, for their compassionate care and support during Cindy's illness.

A memorial service will be held at Bevis Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 11am to be followed by a committal service, including military honors, at Oakland Cemetery.
