Cira Rivera Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Charles Coelho Funeral Home - Central Falls on Oct. 31, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Cira. Despite the strength, courage, and hope she showed she peacefully passed away on October 25, 2025 at Steere House Nursing Home surrounded by her loved ones.
Cira was born in Bani, Dominican Republic, the daughter of the late Pablo Rivera and Generosa (Nivar) Rivera.
For many years, Cira worked at the Jewish Home in New York City, where she served as both a cook and a Certified Nursing Assistant. Known for her kindness, patience, and tireless work ethic, Cira brought warmth and comfort to residents and colleagues alike. Whether preparing a favorite meal or offering a gentle hand and listening ear, she treated everyone like family. After her time in New York, Cira moved to Boston, where she continued her passion for cooking by working in a restaurant. She loved sharing good food and good company, touching lives through her meals and kindness. In later years, Cira retired in Rhode Island, where she continued to bring joy to others by babysitting and caring for children in the community. She will always be remembered for her nurturing spirit, gentle humor, and unwavering love for family.
Outside of work, Cira loved cooking for loved ones, spending time with family, music; dancing and praying for everyone.
Cira was the proud mother of three sons: the late Roberto Núñez, and her surviving sons Franklin Núñez of Pawtucket, and Cristian Moreno of the Dominican Republic. She also lovingly raised her grandchildren, including the late Robert Sanchez, and is survived by her granddaughter Gissela Moreno, grandson Jonathan Sanchez and her amazing granddaughter Jasmine Marinez, who was like a daughter to her.
Cira also leaves behind many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Her many nieces and nephews filled her heart with joy, and she cherished every moment spent with family. She is also survived by her sister, Santa America Rivera of Pawtucket; her twin brother, Marcelino Rivera of New York City; her sister Santa Rivera of New York City; her sister, Santica Rivera of the Dominican Republic; and her brother, Rafael Rivera, also of the Dominican Republic.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Steere House Nursing Home for the compassionate care and kindness they provided to Cira.
Cira was a light to everyone who knew her and the heart to our family- she was full of kindness, laughter, and love. She touched so many lives with her warmth, generosity and faith. Losing her has left a hole in our hearts, but we are comforted by the memories and love she leaves behind.
Visting Hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held from 6-9pm in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Fall, RI. A funeral celebration will be held on Tuesday November 4th at 10am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery 200 Armistice Blvd Pawtucket, RI.
