Ciro Rustici, 77, of Ammon, Idaho, was called back to his heavenly home on October 4, 2024.
Ciro was born the eldest of five children to John and Katherine Rustici. He forged strong bonds with his siblings and cousins that lasted throughout his life. He often reminisced about his time in Catholic school, sharing stories of his playful antics that sometimes landed him in trouble.
At 24, Ciro joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shortly after, he traveled from Missouri to Salt Lake City, Utah where he reconnected with a friend who had recently married. It was through this friend that Ciro met the love of his life, Konnie Welch. Their brief courtship quickly blossomed into a deep commitment, and they knew they were meant to be together for all time and eternity.
On August 26, 1972, Ciro and Konnie were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. In the early years of their marriage, they made their home in Salt Lake City, welcoming their first child, Angela. In 1974, the family moved to Ammon, Idaho where they completed their family with the births of Ryan and Cindy.
Ciro began his career in law enforcement, holding several positions with Bonneville County. He later transitioned to Idaho National Laboratory, where he created lifelong friendships and built a wide network of acquaintances before retiring.
Ciro held many callings in the church, serving proudly as Stake Sunday School President and working alongside Konnie in the temple. Ciro cherished the opportunity to meet general authorities, especially Elder Nelson, who later became the prophet of the church.
Ciro had a larger-than-life personality, renowned for his sense of humor and love of practical jokes. He cherished every opportunity to go fishing, with many favorite spots throughout the region. Ciro was also passionate about leatherwork, creating heartfelt gifts for friends and family. He also enjoyed woodworking and creating unique pieces of jewelry.
He is survived by his wife, Konnie of Ammon, Idaho; his daughter, Angela Rustici of Ammon, Idaho; his son, Ryan Rustici of Twin Falls, Idaho; and his daughter, Cindy (Ben) Hare of Ammon, Idaho. He leaves behind four grandchildren: Kielee Rustici, Emilia Rustici, Dylan Hare, and Atlas Hare. He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his brother, George Rustici; and his sister, Diana Lahmon.
The Rustici family would like to thank Eden Hospice for the exceptional care provided to their husband, father, and grandfather.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends and family one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Ammon Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
