James Rustici Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Falowski Kalis Mcintee Funeral and Cremation Services - Fort Lauderdale on Nov. 24, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

James Thomas Rustici, of Pompano Beach, passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2025 with his loving wife, Marjorie, by his side.
James (who went by Jim to all who were lucky to know him) was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to parents Thomas Mariano Rustici and Grace Rustici on July 15, 1944. Jim was born a strong warrior at just 24 weeks gestation. He spent his first few months of life continuing to grow and develop in the hospital, and when he was released healthy and thriving, his birth story made the local newspaper as he was a true miracle baby.
Jim, an only child, and his parents moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida when he was 7 years old. He attended St. Anthony Catholic School, and that is where he first met his wife of 59 years, Marjorie (Margie), in the 8th grade.
He went on to graduate from St. Thomas Aquinas High School (class of 1962), and then attended Xavier College and the University of South Florida.
Jim and Margie married on 11/12/66 and then Jim went on to serve in the U.S. Army fighting for his country in the Vietnam War (1/8/68 -1/7/70).
After the war, Jim and Margie went on to have three sons and moved their family up to Westerly, Rhode Island, where they happily lived until returning back to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1995.
Jim was an entrepreneur who owned and successfully ran several different types of businesses throughout his lifetime. He was always working hard to provide for his family, who he adored.
Jim was the epitome of a good man. He was generous and kind to all who crossed his path. He fiercely loved his family and was an incredibly devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a proud patriot and a faithful Catholic. His strength, love, thoughtfulness and compassion made him such a wonderful role model to his family and all who were lucky to know and love him.
Jim enjoyed boating, fishing, watching football, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Everyone always enjoyed his witty and sarcastic sense of humor, and he brought love and joy to wherever he would go. He is sorely missed and will forever be lovingly remembered.
Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie, his children Thomas James (Jenny), Robert (Cindy), Chad (Lara), his grandchildren James, Payton, Madison, Ryan, Mason, Ava and Layla, and cousins Kent Walker (Tisa) and Lee Stone (Suzy).
A memorial mass will be held in his honor on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 1500 S. Andrews Avenue, Pompano Beach, Florida 33069.
