Clair Jeannette Glaser

Clair Jeannette Glaser was Born to Clarence and Geneva Gansen on August 22, 1943 on what was most likely a hot summer day at the Elma Hastings hospital in Elma, Ia. Raised on the family farm, she was the youngest of seven surviving children. 3 brothers: Gerald (Marg), Nicholas (Dolly) & Joseph (Eleanore), and 3 sisters: Katherine (Butch), Mary (Wayne), and Norma (Ken).

On October 11, 1960 she married the love of her life, Brian Glaser from Alta Vista, Ia. Together, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri in August of 1961, where their family quickly grew to 6: Todd (Donna) Kearney, Mo, Tammy (Jeff) Lecompton, KS, Jeff (Kyla), Liberty, Mo and Jodi (Brian) High Point, North Carolina. They have 10 grandchild: Chantel (Nick), Charity (Daniel) Cheyanne (Kye), Jeremy, Ty, Jake, Joe (McKenzie), Caleb (Eda), Cierra, Josh, and 11 great grandchildren: Jayden, Ava, Alexander, Isa, Emma, Olivia, Xavier, Paisley, Oliver, Hadley, and Noah.

Jeannette was know for her energy and love for those around her. From her quick wit to her unexpected pranks, she was the life of the party and did not know a stranger. She loved to host parties and entertain. No matter who you were when you were with her she made sure you were taken care of. Her perfectionism followed her in all that she did. She helped Brian build a trucking company out of nothing, and at its peak was an empire. Their business not only provided many jobs to the local community, it afforded them and their family a second home at the Lake of the Ozarks. Where, with their kids and grandkids they made many unforgettable memories. “The Lake” was her favorite place, where boat rides accompanied by Bob Seger classics were the norm. She even named their boat “Against the Wind”. That really was her life’s motto. She truly lived against the wind and defied many obstacles as she forged her and her family’s path through this world.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years Brian of the home, 4 children and their spouses as well as grandchildren and great-children, and 1 sister Norma (Ken).

She went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 25th. May God grant peace and rest to her eternal soul. And may the “night moves” never end as you are forever “against the wind”.
