Claire (McCarthy) Campbell, 85, of Medford, MA, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025. Born on January 13, 1940, Claire was a lifelong resident of Medford and the beloved daughter of the late Charles "Chick" and Dorothy (McNeill) McCarthy.

Claire is survived by her five children: Michael and his wife Joan of Chelmsford, MA; Patricia of Saugus, MA; Debora of East Falmouth, MA; Edward and his wife Dawn of Medford, MA; and Dianne and her husband Scott of Pelham, NH. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren-Alyssa, Amanda, Courtney, Bo, Kevin, Ryan, Brady, and Brett-and seven great-grandchildren.

Claire is also survived by her sisters Janet Callahan of Scarborough, ME, and Jeanne Manzi and her husband Robert of Mashpee, MA; her brother Steve McCarthy and his spouse Jeff of Provincetown, MA; and her sister-in-law Teddi McCarthy of Chelmsford, MA. She was predeceased by her brothers Lance Cpl. Edward C. McCarthy, USMC, and Kevin "Bud" McCarthy, as well as her brother-in-law Jack Callahan Sr. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

A graduate of St. Clement's High School, Claire dedicated many years of her life to her work as a receptionist at Lahey Clinic, where she was known for her kindness, warmth, and steady presence.

Claire was a devoted supporter of the Special Olympics, inspired by the special bond she shared with her daughter Pat. Supporting Pat was her greatest joy. Watching her shine at Special Olympics events filled her with tremendous pride.

Family was at the heart of everything Claire did. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her sense of humor, and the joy she brought to every gathering. Her legacy lives on in the generations who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Special Olympics.
