Claire will be so missed . She was a legend as a Mashpee educator. She was the "strict" 2nd grade teacher, while I was in the classroom nearby with one of her dear friends. I´ll always remember that she sure kept those students on their toes!
I came to know the real Claire years later as Kathleen´s mom, and then as a colleague in the Mashpee schools. I always enjoyed our conversations in her kitchen. She loved to talk about education, how she enjoyed life and friends in retirement, but mostly how proud she was of her family. Claire´s bright smile, her laughter and kindness will always be remembered.
My condolences to your family.

So sad to hear of Claire´s passing. I first met Claire while working at Kenneth C Coombs School in Mashpee. She ran her classroom with confidence! Later, Claire and I were in the same graduate program at Lesley University. We had so many laughs together-we pulled each other through the program with determination. She always spoke fondly of her children, sharing stories about them. I was fortunate to call Claire my friend. I hope the many memories comfort everyone.
