Clara Bethea Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Troy's Funeral Home - Mullins on Sep. 19, 2024.
Mrs. Claretta Joyce Legette Bethea, the second oldest daughter of David Legette and Mae Roe Crawford Legette was born on January 5, 1953, in Mullins, South Carolina. She was called to eternal rest on September 5, 2024, at 4:13pm at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville Florida.
Claretta attended public school in Mullins, South Carolina and graduated from Mullins High School in 1971. She attended Demark Technical College in Denmark, SC where she received a two-year certified license certificate for Barbering. She worked at Leo Philips Barbershop as one of his lead barbers. Claretta also worked as a cook on a Merchant Marine Ship out of Delaware.
At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined the EverBee Baptist Church in Smithboro, South Carolina. Claretta was a humble woman, with a warm gentle, caring, and loving personality that everyone who she met called her joy. Her hobby was going out playing Bingo with her favorite cousin Dorothy Legette who presided her in death. Claretta never missed a day without thinking about her and talking about how much fun they always had together. The love of listening to jazz music was her comfort zone. The biggest love of her life was her family. She took great care of them, making sure that they were always happy.
