     Clara Lou Lindsay-Bohleber, 94, of Carmi, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Charles Ford Memorial Home in New Harmony, IN. She was born on January 3, 1930, in Pinkstaff, IL, the daughter of Frank and Mattie (Dollahan) Lindsay. Lou married Curtis Bohleber on January 8, 1951, and together they shared over 41 years of marriage, until his passing in 1992. She came to Carmi in December of 1948 when she was hired as the first copy writer for WROY Radio Station. She loved flowers, her family and many friends. Lou was a member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church where she was a proud member of the Ladies Guild. Lou was a homemaker and an excellent cook. In later years, she enjoyed preparing lunch for widows, allowing them an opportunity to visit one another and build friendships.

     Lou is survived by her sons, John (Jennifer) Bohleber of Mt. Vernon, IN, Frank (Ana) Bohleber of St. Louis, MO, and Mike (Angie) Bohleber of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Betsey Collins, Benjamin (Courtney) Bohleber, Natalie (Marin) Pastar, Andy (Caroline) Bohleber, Kevin Bohleber and Catie Bohleber; and eight great- grandchildren, Maggie, Will, Ari and Cecelia Collins, Johnny and Janie Bohleber, and Lily and Jack Bohleber. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Curtis and her sisters, Mary Francis Phillippe and Dorothy Fink.

     The family would like to give a special thanks to the Charles Ford Memorial Home staff for the love and compassion given to our mother during the last three years,

     Funeral Mass for Clara Lou Lindsay-Bohleber will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, 209 4th St., Carmi, IL Burial will be in St. Polycarp Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at St. Polycarp Catholic Church. Memorial contributions can be made in Lou's memory to St. Polycarp Catholic Church, the Charles Ford Memorial Home or to Hospice of Harmony and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821 who is in charge of the arrangements.
