Clara M. Davis, aged 86, of Fairborn, OH, passed away on December 30, 2025, at the Hospice of Dayton. She was born on June 16, 1939, in the charming town of Crossville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Jesse and Amanda Rhoda (Farr) Wyatt.
Clara's professional journey as a loan officer for Wright-Patt Credit Union reflected her commitment to service and community, where she became a trusted figure among countless patrons, embodying dedication and integrity in every aspect of her work.
Outside of her career, Clara's heart found fulfillment in the simple joys of life. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and creating memories with them. She was an avid crocheter, a devoted baker whose confections (especially her fudge) will be long remembered during family gatherings, and a passionate gardener whose hands nurtured both plants and relationships. Her love for sewing and crafting brought comfort and warmth, producing treasures that will be cherished by her family for generations. Clara's adventurous spirit ignited her passion for travel, wherein she sought experiences that enriched her life and expanded her horizons. As a Girl Scout leader, she shaped the lives of young girls, instilling confidence and skills that would guide them into adulthood.
In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband Don Brackett; second husband, Bobby Davis; her son, Matthew Brackett; grandson, Jeremy Weaks; granddaughter, Deanna Brackett; her sister, Hazel Wyatt; and stepchildren, Tim Davis and Deanna Deese.
Clara's greatest pride and joy were her children. She is survived by Mandy Hofferbert (George Buchhalter), Sandy (Steven) Wilt, and Becky Thompson (Rick Massie). Her legacy continues through her multitude of grandchildren, Jon Weaks, Robert (Jessica) Deese, Caitlin Brackett, Sara (Phil) Ordway, and Marcus (JoEllen) Wilt; her thirteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit. Also left to honor her memory is her sister, Wanda (Dick) Stewart, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members whose lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 11th, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH, 45324. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 PM until the start of service at 2:00 pm, Pastor Buck Smith officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
