Clara Etta Ernsburger Conner, age 88, of Fairview, TN, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, at NHC Dickson. Born on October 5, 1936, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Clara was a woman whose love and generosity touched everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Conner (Pap); her son, Carl Conner (Peewee); her grandson, James Conner Jr. (JC); her sons-in-law, Troy Winters and Ricky Skinner daughter in law Lana Eakes; and seven siblings.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Roy Conner Jr., Linda Winters, and James Conner Sr., as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two sisters.
Affectionately known as "Mammie," Clara was truly everyone's grandmother. She gave selflessly and never turned away anyone in need. Many in Fairview, TN, will fondly remember her as the friendly face at the local gas station, where she worked for as long as they could remember. Others knew her as a dedicated coach who helped guide and support countless children in sports. She loved her grandchildren as if they were her own and even adopted and raised a few along the way.
Clara had a heart larger than life, and her kindness knew no bounds. The world has lost an angel here on earth, but heaven has gained one more. As she always said, "I love you more."
A visitation and service to celebrate Clara's life will be held on Saturday, February 1, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation. Interment will follow in Pond Cemetery in Williamson County, TN.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
