Clara L. Garcia

Clara Luz Garcia passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on December 1st, 2025 at the age of 89 in Phoenix, AZ. She was born May 9th, 1936 in Santa Ana, El Salvador to Maria Julia Lopez.
She married Santiago E. Garcia March 1, 1957. The couple immigrated to Chicago, IL in time for the great blizzard of 1967 and still chose to make Chicago their home for 32 years.
After a 26-year career with Zenith Television, she retired and re-located with her spouse to the warmth of Phoenix, AZ in 1999.
Clara was an active member of her community. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many callings and was always willing to serve. She was also a worker in the Mesa, AZ temple for 12 years.
She was known for hosting Thanksgiving dinners at their home for the entire family which was a highlight for everyone, helping to maintain the El Salvador traditions she grew up with.

She is survived by: Spouse – Santiago Sister – Theresa Son – William (Cheryl) Son – Nestor (Karla) Son – David (Flor) 9 grandchildren 7 great-grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all.
