Clara Faggart Griffin, 87, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family and her special friend, Donna Burgess, by her side.
She was born in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, on August 15, 1938 to the late William and Helen Faggart. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Hubert Neal Griffin; sister, Colleen Rainey; nephew, Greg Reynolds; and niece, Kathy Rainey.
Clara was a devout Christian and dedicated member of Maylo United Methodist Church and faithfully read her Upper Room devotional. She enjoyed sewing and was a talented artist who enjoyed painting portraits and she loved playing cards with her granddaughter. Her favorite treat was banana popsicles and she loved her cat, Carmen. Clara leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Griffin and Kelly Griffin; granddaughter, Andrea Ledbetter (Stephen); her special friend, Donna Burgess; nephews, John Rainey, Thom Rainey, Eric Reynolds, and Jeff Fritts; and niece, Paulette McEver.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Maylo United Methodist Church, 1900 Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the church with Pastor Mark Etchinson and Pastor Dwight Cartner officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Lee Holbrook, Stephen Ledbetter, Clyde Ledbetter, Tommy Bradbury, Michael Bradbury and Tim Burgess.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maylo United Methodist Church, 1900 Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.
