Ellabell- Clara Nell Jenkins Sims, age 84, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025. Mrs. Sims was born in Collins, GA to the late Warnell Jenkins and Jacqulyn Callaway Jenkins. She attended Hillview School and graduated from Collins High School. Mrs. Sims retired from the Bryan County Board of Education as a Teacher’s Assistant for Black Creek and Lanier Elementary Schools with a combined service of 27 years. She was a member of Faith Harvest Sanctuary and was a client of NU Image Beauty Shop. Mrs. Sims was an avid shopper, loved working in her yard and washing her vehicles. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Gary L. Sims; her oldest son, Jeffery Sims and two brothers, Karen Jenkins and Randy Jenkins.
Survivors include one son and two daughters-in-law, Gregory and Wende Sims of Ellabell and Terrie Sims of Ellabell; two sisters, Faye Yarbrough of Collins and Sandra Davis of Claxton; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Joey and Delorse Jenkins of Collins and Janice Jenkins of Claxton; grandchildren, James and Brandi Sims, Rachel and Brian Morgan, Crystal and Joshua Patnaude and Kelly Nell Sims; great grandchildren, Grayce Patnaude, Ellajoe Patnaude, M. Benjamin Smith, Clayton Bashlor, Clarakay Patnaude, Serenity Smith, Parker Sims, Sallieayn Patnaude and Colton Sims and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the funeral home
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Hewitt officiating. Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
