Val Duncan, a beloved resident of Hinesville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 15th, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on April 15th, 1940, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Val led a life full of dedication, service, and love for his family and community.

Val is remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving sons, Bruce Duncan (Katie) of Hinesville, GA, Jesse Duncan (Starla) of Greenville, SC, and James Duncan (Cheryl) of Augusta, GA, and his cherished daughter, Barbara Ann Duncan Hearn of Hinesville, GA. Val was the proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He also leaves behind his dear sisters, Mart Litzen and Nora Lambert of Wisconsin, who will deeply miss him.

Preceding Val in death was his beloved wife of 62 years, Roxie Estelle Sellars Duncan; his parents, Ernest Duncan and Savannah Dean Tracey Duncan; his twin brother, Hal Duncan; sister, Barbara Ann Johnson; and son-in-law, Ricky Hearn. Each of them held a special place in his heart and together they created a wonderful family legacy.

Val dedicated much of his life to service. He served in the United States Army for more that twenty years, retiring honorably. He proudly served as an electrician with the United States Civil Service following his military service. His commitment to his country was exemplified through his service during the Vietnam War, and his continued involvement with the VFW and the American Legion Post 144.

Val was a man of many talents and interests. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed spending time on the water with his friends. His love for tinkering and working on cars was well-known.

A memorial service to celebrate Val's life will be announced at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share stories of the impact he had on their lives.

His legacy of love, service, and kindness will be cherished forever by all who knew him.
