Clara “Jeanette” Nicholson, age 78, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on December 15, 2024 in Webster, Texas. She was born on July 7, 1946 in Cameron, Texas to the late Charlie and Erva Lee McKenzie White.
Jeanette was raised in the Wharton area and attended Wharton school. She enjoyed working for Entex Gas Company and later Reliant Energy in the accounting department for over 30 years. Jeanette loved watching her grandchildren and later, great grandchildren, having sleepovers with her grand babies whenever she could. When she wasn’t being Grandma or at work, she could be found trying her luck at the casino. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Charles White and her fur baby, Cooper.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Belvin of Conroe, Son, John Hobbins, Jr of Sargent, sisters, Brenda Guess and husband, Donnie, Linda White, and Sherry Townsend and husband, Woodie, brother Charles White and wife, Linda, grandchildren, Stephanie Hermes and husband, Matt, Michael Belvin and wife, Laura, Candace Belvin, Cody Belvin and Thomas Hobbins and wife, Stephanie, great grandchildren, Blaine, Tenley and Clara Hermes, Cheyenne and Brooklyn Hobbins and Bristol Belvin.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 10 am at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton. There will be a lunch following the services and burial at The 409 Club in El Campo.
