In Loving Memory of Clara Mae Rothlisberger

August 30, 1939 – June 19, 2025

Clara Mae Rothlisberger, a devoted wife, loving mother, and grateful matriarch, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, in Farmington, New Mexico, at the age of 85, with her family gathered lovingly around her. Born on August 30, 1939, in Farmington to Tom and Helen Elizabeth San Juan, Clara made her home in La Plata, where she spent her life rooted in love, purpose, and unwavering commitment.

After graduating high school, she built a life rich in service-to her work, her faith, her creativity, and most of all, to the family she cherished. With a quiet grace, Clara touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She believed in the value of hard work and spent her career serving others at Fairchild Electronics, the City of Farmington, and later for 15 years at Walmart, where she was admired for her gentle nature and caring spirit. Known for her steady hands and warm heart, she was a gifted seamstress that brought joy through her sewing, crocheting, knitting, and home-cooked meals. Clara also found deep spiritual fulfillment through reading the Bible and sharing quiet moments in faith. Clara's greatest source of joy was always her family. She found immense joy in the company of her loved ones and leaves behind a legacy of love that spans five generations.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Don Rothlisberger; her children: Norman (Cathy) Rothlisberger, Vernon (Bobbie) Rothlisberger, Terry (Terrel) Pope, Charlene (Garet) Giffin, and Jolene (Phil) Sanz; her sister, Mildred Mike; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Her love was a constant-steady, selfless, and unconditional.

She was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Helen Elizabeth San Juan and sisters Mable Mike and Marjorie Willie.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute Street, Farmington, NM.

A celebration of Clara's life will follow on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., also at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, with her sons Norman and Vernon Rothlisberger serving as pallbearers.

Clara's greatest joy was loving her family. She gave her love freely, through quiet moments, thoughtful gestures, and whispered prayers. Whether it was a warm meal, a handmade gift, or simply sitting nearby, she made each of us feel deeply cared for. Her faith was the foundation of her strength, and her kindness filled our lives with comfort. We will carry her love with us always, because she never let us forget it. She would always say: "I love my babies." And we knew she meant it. We will forever carry her love with us-it was the greatest gift she gave.
