Clara V. Salazar was called home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2026, leaving behind a profound legacy of faith, love, and family. Born on October 11, 1944, Clara was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother whose life reflected her deep trust in God and her wholehearted service to others.
Clara was a proud graduate of Fox Tech High School, where she studied cosmetology. She worked as a beautician at Brooks Air Force Base and as a clerk at Joske's Department Store. Eventually, she found her true calling in education, serving as a teacher's assistant at Cable Elementary School within Northside ISD, primarily supporting students in the English as a Second Language program. Due to health conditions, she retired in 2008, but she remained especially fond of the pre-K students she served and deeply cherished her fellow staff members.
Clara met her beloved husband, George Salazar, while attending Fox Tech High School. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage rooted in faith, commitment, and unconditional love, building a home centered on devotion to God and family.
Faith was the foundation of Clara's life and guided her in all that she did. She was one of the founding parishioners of Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, where she joyfully gave her time and talents in service to her faith community. Clara served as a Eucharistic Ministry Coordinator, lovingly baked Eucharistic bread for Mass, helped with Summer Bible School, was one of the founding members of the Marion Society, and was a faithful member of the A.C.T.S. Community.
She was also a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8158 Ladies Auxiliary. Through these acts of quiet devotion and service, Clara formed deep and lasting friendships within her church family and was known for her gentle spirit, humility, and generous heart.
Clara was one of ten siblings and remained closely connected to her family throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andres C. Vasquez and Victoria R. Vasquez; her brothers, Andres Vasquez (Rosie), Joe Vasquez (Diana) and Arturo Vasquez (Lupe); and her sister, Chelo Rodriguez (Alfonso).
She is survived by her devoted husband, George Salazar; her loving children, Silvia A. Salinas (Saul), George Salazar Jr. (Gracie), Yvonne Salazar, Andy Salazar (Karyna), and Miguel Salazar; her treasured grandchildren, Rachael Salinas, Erica Salazar, Johnny Martinez (Amanda), Joey Martinez (Mari), Jessica Salinas, Crystal Salinas,Xander Salazar, Jourdan Martinez, and Xavior Salazar; and her beloved greatgrandchildren, Jace, Colten, and Carter, who brought her immense joy. Her siblings Virginia Molina (Fernando), Helen Johnson (Raul), Isabel Gutierrez (David) Jesse Vasquez (Maria), and Mary Garcia (Orlando).
Clara's life was a beautiful testimony of faith, selflessness, and enduring love. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she now rests in eternal peace. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the generations she nurtured with grace, devotion, and unwavering love.
