Clare Marie ‘Dolly’ Bell, of Montevideo passed away on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 89 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 5th at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Clare Marie ‘Dolly’ Bell was born on June 16, 1936, in Morgan, Minnesota, the daughter of Hugo and Mary Heiling. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and attended school in Wabasso, Minnesota graduating from Wabasso High School in 1954.
Clare spent many years in office management for agriculture related businesses such as Montevideo Implement and freight trucking. Her hobby was quilting and on her 75th birthday she gave away 26 quilts to family and friends. Volunteering was important to her as she was a faithful member of the Montevideo American Legion Auxiliary for over 25 years, taught CCD Religion classes at St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteered for numerous duties within Sherburne National Forest and 16 years with Texas Parks and Wildlife in the Army Corp of Engineers.
Clare is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Bell; her children Everett (& Cheryl) Bain, Stacy (& Michael) Lenzen and Rob (& Tammi) Bell, Jr.; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers: Jake (& Marlene) Heiling, Gary (& Sharon) Heiling, Mike (& Valarie) Heiling and Mark (& Terrie) Heiling; sister Mary Ann Johanneck; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband James Bain; brothers Paul, Eugene, Kenneth and Hugo Jr.; sister in laws Gerry, Sharon & Shirley; brother-in-law Jim Johanneck; several aunts, uncles, and extended family.
