Leslie Laura Bell, 53, passed away on March 1st, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida. She was born in Royal Oak, Michigan and raised in Birmingham, Michigan.
Leslie was a devoted mother to her three children: McKenzie K Mortensen, Collin B Mortensen, and Ella V Mortensen, who resides in Newtown, Pennsylvania, with their father, Bradley W. Mortensen. Her love for her children was boundless and unwavering.
She is survived by her parents and the beloved daughter of William R and Katherine M Bell of Fort Myers, Florida for the past 15 years. She is also survived by her brothers Jeffery W Bell, Brian M Bell and her twin sister Lisa M (Bell) Hawkins.
A graduate of Birmingham Groves High School in 1991, Leslie pursued higher education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville before continuing her studies at a fashion design school in New York City. Her creative spirit and artistic passion were evident throughout her life and career.
Leslie’s zest for life showed throughout her hobbies and interests. She enjoyed playing competitive tennis and pickleball and found great fulfillment working as a Floral Merchandiser servicing several Costco stores on the West Side of Florida. Her flare for life was always reflected in a vibrant and artistic nature. Her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, and warm spirit made everyone around her feel welcome. She had an extraordinary gift for bringing joy to those around her and left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
Leslie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness and loving heart will forever remain in the memories of those she touched. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her loss.
A funeral Mass will be held on April 10th, 2026, at 10 AM at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, Florida.
