Philip Alan Bernard

BERNARD, Philip Alan (Phil) - of Pontiac, Michigan, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 14, 2025.
Phil was born in Detroit, MI on July 9, 1962, to Gerald and Rita (Rais) Bernard.
After graduating from Wylie E. Groves High School in 1980, Phil went on to obtain his degree at the National Institute of Technology in 1982. Due to his technical abilities there wasn't a car, boat, motorcycle, or home appliance that he couldn't fix and had the ability to explain how to fix something over the phone to help someone. He loved the outdoors and was always up for an adventure and enjoyed water and snow skiing.
Phil had many severe medical issues these last 11 years that would be difficult for anyone, but he was strong, tough, and independent, never wanting to be a burden to anyone. He was also very loyal and protective of his family and would always be there to help. He loved Lions football and their great playing over the last couple of years made him very happy. Go Lions!!
Philip is survived by his sisters Cheryl (John) Follick and Laura (Todd) Taliaferro; brother Jeffrey (Lisa) Bernard; two nieces; three nephews; three grand nephews; one aunt; one uncle; and many cousins.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Rita Bernard, and his infant sister, Michele Bernard in 1961.
Private cremation is scheduled; there are no memorial services planned.
