Jonny Mack James, 56, of Estero, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on March 9th., 2026 surrounded and comforted by his wife and family members after enduring a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on September 8th., 1969, in Warren, Ohio, Jonny lived a life marked by kindness, joy, laughter, generosity, adventure and unwavering love for his family and friends. He graduated from Champion High School in Champion, Ohio where he excelled in football and attended Potomac State College and West Virginia University, in Morgantown, West Virginia where he met and fell in love with his life long partner Sandra James.

Jonny and Sandra married in 1991 and built a beautiful life together raising two children. Jonny had a successful career as a Telecommunications Network Technician and was a dedicated and loyal employee of Lumen for almost 30 years. His commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew and loved Jonny. Jonny found joy in hobbies and activities, he was an avid athlete enjoyed football with his buddies, cycling, gym, fishing and golf for relaxation and excitement.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas James, Warren, Ohio, mother Sondra Pinney and spouse John Pinney, Estero, Florida, brother Trent James, Seattle, Washington, and brother Thomas James, Warren, Ohio, and a niece Averie James, Arlington, Texas.

Jonny is survived by his loving wife, Sandra James who cared for him at home until his last fighting breath and two loving children, Brandon James, Estero, Florida, Paxton James and Fiancé Kyle Miller, Fort Myers, Florida. Siblings Tammy Nicholas and spouse Craig Nicholas, Howland, Ohio, Mark James and spouse Monica James, Arlington, Texas, Jesse James and spouse Debbie James, Estero, Florida. Uncle Jerry and Aunt Kistler, Howland, Ohio. A cherished grandson, Camden James Miller, Fort Myers, Florida.

At the family’s request there will be no service at this time. Jonny will be honored with a memorial service “celebration of life” in Ohio as well as in Texas at a determined date set by family.
