CANTERBURY – Clare Eileen (Stockwell) Michon, 82, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on March 30, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
She was the beloved wife of Lee Michon for 62 precious years. She was the cherished mother of Kathleen Michon and James Michon and his wife Kim Michon. A proud grandmother of Brittney Michon, Dacia and her husband Desland Hurlock, Samantha and her husband Tony Ferullo and loving great-grandmother of Dyllan, Cameron, Asher, Olivia and Nora. Clare is also survived by her sister, Ellen Mizeur (Leon), her sisters-in-law, Carrie Michon, Lisa Michon, and Annette Stockwell along with nieces, nephew and fondly remembered as the sister of the late Danny Stockwell and sister-in-law of the late Cindy Desouza
Clare's life was marked by determination and grace. She devoted 22 years to the Norwich Bulletin, earning respect for her professionalism and dedication. In her younger years she also pursued modeling, embracing life with confidence and style. In 1983, a tragic accident left Clare paraplegic, but she refused to let it define her. She continued to pursue the things she loved, demonstrating courage and resilience that inspired everyone around her.
Family and friends were at the heart of Clare's life. She treasured time spent on the beaches of Cape Cod, creating joyful memories filled with laughter, love and togetherness. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
A private family service will be held at a later date to celebrate Claire's life, honor her remarkable journey, and remember the love she shared so freely.
